HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GAYLE. WE HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT DAY!
Day 140 – We looked at the blog this morning to see what we were doing a year ago today. Turned out it was one of our favorite days ever. The California Redwoods. And we thought the trees here were large! Back in Maine, 43 degrees at 8:15 this morning, cloudy & wet from last night’s rain.
The fresh crabmeat we got recently from Mrs. Griffin was so good, we decided we needed to stock up & freeze it for taking home with us. I had called her last weekend to see if any was available & she said it was all gone but to call her today; she might have some more then. I called this morning & sure enough, she’d gotten some in & was cleaning it as we spoke. She said this was her last crabmeat of the season. I called Suzanne & she wanted some, too.
We drove to Pembroke, got more crabmeat, drove to Lubec & ran a couple of errands, which included mailing our absentee ballots. Then we went to Michael & Suzanne’s to drop off their crab. Visited with them a little bit, then headed back to the RV. Cool, cloudy, & breezy; the high today was 45 degrees.
It’s much quieter around here now. Most of the “people from away” have gone home ’til next year. I guess we’ll be next to leave, but it depends on the weather & Mother Nature. We’re wondering where we’ll go next after our trip home to catch up. We sure can’t go north in the winter; I guess that means we’ll go south. For when the weather is warmer, I still want to do Atlantic Canada. Rob is leaning towards the Rockies. We’ll see how things go……
