Day 121 – It continued raining all day. It was 46 degrees this morning at 7:15 a.m.  Windy & cold. The high today was 47 degrees. BIG leap in temperature. Supposed to continue with the rain & wind until tomorrow.

We drove into Machias for the weekly routine. Even though it was dark & rainy, the fall colors were amazing. Got our veggies & freshly-baked bread from Machias Marketplace, picked up a few more items from the health store, and stopped at Riverside Take-Out for the last time this year. They’re closing for the season in a couple of days. Got our Monster Seafood Platter to go & our Crab Rolls for lunch. As always, excellent. We’ll miss seeing Mark & Frank regularly but might visit with them next week or the week after. Always a pleasure! Stayed inside the rest of the day. Caught up on some things, relaxed, kept the girls company, and enjoyed our seafood.

END OF MONTH FOUR, TRIP #4:

As of today, we’ve been gone for four months on Trip #4, not counting the time spent at home & in CA, just counting days on the road. One month ago, we were at Cobscook Bay State Park & then we moved on to our land. We’ve been at the property in South Trescott, Maine for 3 ½ weeks. Into a routine now and feeling completely at home. One month ago we’d begun to see just the very beginning of fall colors at Cobscook. Now it’s brilliant out. We had lots of rain & for the most part, the temperatures have been cool. We expect the coming month to just get colder & colder. We went out whalewatching again during this month & thoroughly enjoyed it. We’ve also seen lots of people & caught up with what’s been happening around here – never a dull moment. We’ve taken a couple of hikes & nice drives, both on Campobello Island in New Brunswick, Canada & near here in Downeast Maine. Eaten lots of fish, crab & lobster. But most of all, the amount of work that Rob has done on the land is incredible. And we are totally loving the harbor views! The kitties are doing well, and they are happy not to be driving to new locations. We hope to be here at least another month. It all depends on the weather & how cold it gets. Once things begin to freeze up, we’ll have to head south again.
