Day 84 – Alas, the rain never came. When Rob got up at 6:30 this morning, the wind was howling thru the trees. Then it stopped & became still, 66 degrees. The front was moving through. Gorgeous day today, high 74 degrees, sunny. By 11 a.m., the campground was almost empty. Labor Day Weekend was over.
We went kayaking in the afternoon out of our campsite, this time heading north. A big, full-grown Bald Eagle flew over; we could hear the wings as he went overhead. When we got out into Moosehead Lake, the water was a little rough; that made it exciting. We followed the coastline whenever we saw a deviation into a cove. That was a lot of fun. Never knew what we’d find around the next corner.

The familiar Black Ducks & the Frog from the past two afternoons never showed up, but the Loons were still calling to each other. We sat in the tent after our paddle. It was another great day at Lily Bay State Park.
