STORMY WEATHER.
Day 39 – We got up after 8 a.m. The kitties are now very happy here; there’s electricity & they have their heated pads to sleep on again. It was in the mid-fifties, raining & quite windy when we finally woke up. It had rained steadily all night. People had already starting leaving the Park; the great campsite shuffle began as some people already camping here in smaller non-view campsites moved quickly to the ocean-view sites as soon as they emptied.
There’s a Flash Flood Warning in effect for the areas inland which are around the hills that had burned in the recent fires. It warns of the debris from those fires that could be in the rushing flood waters. That would include the other Park we were going to stay at, assuming we couldn’t get a good site here. Here, the wind will be picking up through tomorrow night with the rain continuing into Sunday. There are gale warnings & small craft are urged not to go out to sea. The waves & swells will be increasing. Should make for some awesome storm watching along the coast!
We caught up on paperwork & blogging, read our books, and stayed dry inside out of the rain which never let up. It didn’t seem to matter to all the campers though; the dance continued throughout the day & the campground filled up once again.
