Umpqua Lighthouse State Park

A DAY OF DRIVING.

Day 176 – It was wet and muddy out this morning. We had paid for this campground through tonight, but we don’t know where to go tomorrow. On top of that, the heavy rains showed us a weakness in the skylight over the shower by giving us a steady drip of rain into the shower stall. Well, it could be worse; I mean, if you had a leak wouldn’t you want it to be in your shower? So Rob spent some time studying up on skylight leaks in RV’s; I looked at the availability of campsites where we are, so we could just pay for a couple more nights here, while Rob fixed the shower.

APRIL SHOWERS!

Day 175 – The rain and wind storm has been going on since late yesterday afternoon. Just when you think it’s going to let up, it’s back being nasty again. No drought here, boy. There are several things we wanted to do in this area. Hopefully tomorrow we can take a drive up north along the coast. We’ll see what the weather does. Whales are migrating north; it’s that time of year, and supposedly about an hour north of here you get to the areas along the coast where you can see them the best. But for now, we are hunkered down.

Day 174 – At 8:10 a.m. this morning it was 48 degrees, cloudy, and no wind. The wind and rain are supposed to begin this afternoon. We weren’t in any hurry to leave here since our next campground isn’t very far away and we already have reservations, sight of the campsite unseen.
