REST IN PEACE, MARK P. YOU ARE MISSED.

Day 52 – This morning when I was making the bed, I saw outside the window that something was going on in the lake. It looked at first like big fish were jumping; the water was frothy. TRAVEL DAY: GORE, OKLAHOMA TO NORMAN, OKLAHOMA.

Day 51 – Boy, you can sure tell we’re heading west! It is extremely dry – the air – you can feel the dryness in your nose and throat and on your skin. We haven’t seen any rain forecast in the weather reports, whereas we were seeing that forecast regularly. It’s not cold anymore – I didn’t think we’d be this warm until we reached the desert of New Mexico & Arizona. I expected it to be colder in Oklahoma. Right now (4:30 p.m.) it’s 77 degrees in the RV and 73 degrees outside. We’ve had full sunlight with few clouds for about a week now. Aside from cowboy hats and boots, ranches instead of farms, and ALOT more cattle and horses in the fields, this dryness is one sure way to pinpoint where we are.
