HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HELEN! WE HOPE IT’S PURRRFECTLY WONDERFUL!

Also, to those who celebrate it, HAPPY EASTER! And then there’s APRIL FOOL’S DAY, too.

Day 203 – Supposed to rain today, a good day to move to the next destination, a campground near to the three units within the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge. We are slowly working our way to Elkhart, Indiana, refuge by refuge, towards our first appointment for work to be done on the RV. It was 49 degrees and cloudy at 11:35 a.m. when we left the Elk Harbor Campground, after dumping tanks & refilling the fresh water.

Day 202 – Woke up to sunshine & clear skies. Google had us at 37 degrees. We hung around for awhile, then packed lunches & paid for yet another night at this campground. Rain will be returning tomorrow afternoon so this will be our last chance to explore Cross Creeks National Wildlife Refuge the way we like to do it.

Day 201 – Ah, it looks like it’s done raining, at least for a couple of days. We paid for another night at this campground. Still 62 degrees by the outdoor thermometer, Google is registering 45 degrees, guess the outdoor one is stuck. Cloudy. We hung around for a bit, added Tennessee to the U.S. Sticker map of places we’ve stayed, then went out to Cross Creeks National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters & Vistor’s Center, a drive of about 15 minutes from the campground (although the campground borders the NWR).

Day 199 – Woke up this morning to rain, 60 degrees. Sent a text to Pam, she is still very sick, but her symptoms are different than ours. I think she has the flu and should go to the doctor. It rained on and off all day and stayed warm, reaching 71 degrees. No need yet to try out the new furnace controller board.

Day 198 – Rob has THE COLD. It’s not bad yet, but I know what’s coming. It’s finally stopped raining and warmed up. This morning there were 3 horses eating grass right outside our RV. There’s usually a bunch of horses in the field nearby but somehow there was an inventive horse that let his friends out through the gate. Worried that they might scatter farther and get hurt, Rob called the campground owner & told him. Eventually the owner meandered out and tried to lead the stubborn animals back to their own grassy fields. They wanted no part of it. He shrugged his shoulders and gave up.
