WHALES & BIRDS.

Day 82 – Taking a chance on the weather, last night we purchased two tickets on O’Brien’s Boat Tour, departing this morning at 9 a.m. from Bay Bulls, a small town about ½ hour from the campground. They have several different boat tours; we took two of them in 2019. O’Brien’s is a family owned & operated company. On the side, they do music gigs; we have one of their CD’s. So along with an excellent tour, you get excellent music – much of it the foot-stomping, sing-along kind of music. Newfoundland music.

Day 81 – Well, it turned out that the noisy neighbors had an argument and abruptly packed up and left the campground later yesterday. It was nicely quiet again. And late yesterday afternoon the sun was briefly out and it poured down rain. We were thinking, maybe there’s a rainbow, and sure enough……

THE ROOMS.

Day 80 – It rained last night and was cool and very foggy this morning – 59 degrees. The high temperature was 73 degrees. It was cloudy or foggy or raining during the day. We headed out at about 10:30 a.m. to drive to The Rooms in St. John’s.

Day 79 – It was 60 degrees this morning and cloudy. Not nearly as humid out. The weather forecast was for no rain today. We left around 10:30 a.m. for a drive south to Saint Vincent’s where Whales often come close to the shore to feed on Capelin.

PRETTY MUCH ALL ABOUT FOOD.

Day 78 – It rained last night with thunder so loud it woke us up and we thought there was an avalanche or something. Today it was raining on & off and it was quite humid. The low last night was 60 degrees and today the high was 73 degrees & breezy. At least the weather wasn’t too hot so the humidity wasn’t overwhelming. We’ve heard how hot it’s been in places in the U.S. We feel for you that are affected!

Day 77 – It rained so hard last night that it was almost scary. We were both awakened by the roar of the rain hitting the roof of the RV, and we wondered if that was wind, and if so, we were in trouble. Then, just as quickly it stopped. Weird. This morning it was 60 degrees and foggy. We very leisurely got ready to leave since our new destination is only a couple of hours away, and check-in time is not until 3 p.m. Getting there too early pushes the rules a bit; if someone is using the campsite, they aren’t required to exit until 2 p.m.
