Day 220 – The electric floor heater was able to keep it at 57 degrees inside last night. Today it was sunny until the afternoon when it started raining. Supposed to snow tonight. Winter is not over in the north.

At a little before lunch time we got a call from the place where Rob had ordered the part for the heater. We left right away and picked up our new blower fan, Rob installed it, and we had gas heat again. It still had not been warm enough outside for us to use the RV’s electric heat pump.

We went into Shipshewana to the Amish grocery store to buy some supplies. It was neat to see the horses with the buggies tied up to the railings at the store. Most of the people shopping in the store were Amish, and it looked like all the people who worked there were Amish. Their cheese and meat sections were amazing. We got the supplies we needed and got a sandwich at the Amish deli on home-made bread. Yummy.

Back to the RV, sharing the road with the horses and buggies, and we spent the afternoon cooking a large batch of spaghetti sauce and a large batch of chili. This was because we will be in unknown situations several nights soon while the RV is being worked on, so we wanted to have meals already prepared in case we didn’t have power, etc.

It actually reached 42 degrees today and we were able to use electric heat for a short period of time. Then when we turned the gas heat back on because the temps had dropped outside, the gas heat came right on. Mr. Fix It has done it again.

Tomorrow afternoon we are going to Elkhart to get the first leg of the RV work started. Tomorrow night we will stay on the premises of the place where the work will be done. They will start the work Friday morning at 6 a.m.  For us, it will be a long day of waiting to get the RV back. The cats will be in the bedroom with food and a litter box while the work is being done outside of the vehicle. They will not be happy. But we’ll be close by and will check on them regularly.
