Day 87 – I slept in this morning, not getting up until 8:45. Rob was up at 7:30 a.m., & it was 34 degrees out & sunny. I am a slow riser – I’m not one of those people who bound out of bed in the morning, ready to start the day. Rob, on the other hand, can get up & out fairly quickly. As I stumble around in the morning, waiting for my head to clear, it’s often the perfect time for him to take his morning coffee constitutional outside. He came back this morning from his walk with lots of bird pictures to go through & prepare for the blog. It works out well. He knows better than to rush me out the door, LOL.

We checked on the fire situation in Southern CA. Not good. We have friends & relatives in & below the Los Angeles area. Our thoughts are with you all, fingers crossed.

We went for a long bike ride this afternoon. It was really nice. We took off from our campsite, taking the Park road to the bike trail which runs along the cliffs above the Ocean. We went north to where the multi-use path ended. Peaceful & beautiful scenery, not many people out. We turned around and went south on the path which eventually leaves the State Park & travels along the coast into Fort Bragg. We continued until the path peters out in a City Park at Glass Beach. Then we rode back to the campground. When we got back, we took a little hike to keep our muscles loose. It reached 58 degrees today, sunny & no clouds. The girls were happily enjoying the sun in the RV. I don’t think they even noticed we were gone today.

Fortunately, the Bel Air fire is out……but I passed through the area this morning……and all that’s left is a lunar landscape!
