Day 186 – It was 35 degrees this morning and the campsite picnic table was icy. The campground host had said to watch out for black ice early this morning if we went anywhere. Early this morning? We weren’t going out early, that’s for sure.
We had to change campsites today and did so around noon. Someone had already booked the site we had yesterday, so we had to move to an empty campsite today, #24. Didn’t have to pack up or store the girls away, just move from one site to the other. Nice.
After moving we went into town, Yachats, and got lunch at a place recommended for its’ healthy sandwiches and for the coffee and tea. Rob got a Breakfast Burrito and I got a BBQ Tempeh Sandwich; we both had a Mexican Latte. Very good, we may go back tomorrow. We went to the post office to mail a package and to the grocery store for a few items. Back to the RV to put up the food, then we headed south on Highway 101 to see the sights we hadn’t already covered because there’d been so much rain. It was a gorgeous day, a bit cold (the high was 48 degrees), but at least it wasn’t raining. Pictures from our drive are below.

We went back to the RV and sat outside until hungry for dinner, then drove back to Yachats for dinner at Luna Sea Fish House, a small restaurant that was known for their freshly-caught fish. It was a checkered-tablecloth, very casual place that had some of the best fish I’ve ever had – we had the Luna Seafood Platter (halibut, prawns about the size of my fist, and scallops with fries & cole slaw). It was a good day.
