Day 137 – Brrr! 22 degrees this morning. But it was a bright, sunshiny day today, reaching 62 degrees in the afternoon with little wind. We are catching up on some things. Rob changed the oil in the Honda and started work on the new solar panels for the roof on the RV. When we reach more forested country in the Pacific northwest, the additional solar panels should be able to compensate for the loss of full sun access. That’s the plan, anyway. Before lunch, Rob took a couple of pictures at our campsite. There’s plenty of animal activity here.

After lunch, we headed south and west to Kern National Wildlife Refuge. Of course, the Refuge Office was closed so we were unable to get a brochure & map. We just followed the signs and spent the entire afternoon doing the Loop 1 Auto Tour drive. It was a very good drive – ducks everywhere, and lots of water for them to paddle around. In addition to the various ducks, we saw Egrets, Shorebirds, Hawks, Ibis, Great Blue Heron, Crows & Ravens, and various small birds. The high today was 62 degrees and it was sunny.
