Day 24 – Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, day 2. The weather report is for sun, although it was only 42 degrees this morning when we got up. We decided to spend another day at Bombay Hook.
First we drove through all 6 RV/Trailer loops, making note of the best campsites for the next time we’re here and want to reserve a site in advance. There weren’t that many sites to write down because the campsites and loops were so close together, but we did find several. We intend to come back here again to spend more time at Bombay Hook, later in the season in some future year, to see the wintering Snow Geese. We also drive to Killens Pond, which was more of a lake than a pond. It was pretty. Then we drove to the wildlife refuge.

It was a cold but beautiful day at Bombay Hook. The high today was 51 degrees. It was partly cloudy. We did not ride our bikes. Too cold with the wind. But we traveled the wildlife viewing drive twice, via the car, with the windows down for photography and the heater on to keep warm.
It was almost dark when we got back to the RV and already in the mid-40s. Rob took down the tent while I got dinner ready. Tomorrow we leave Delaware to head west.
