HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GAYLE! We will toast to your birthday tonight!
Day 20 – It started raining very hard again right after I wrote the blog last night and said the rain had slowed down. Honestly, we’ve never had it rain this hard for so long while we were camping. At least we know now that there are no visible leaks in the RV! Watch out NY if this comes up your way since you so recently had flooding.
Today we stayed “home” again with the girls. We’d intended to spend the day at Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge – that was the main reason we came to this park, but this morning we became suspicious that one of the cats might have a bladder infection. We didn’t know for sure, but we got a sample and called around to a local vet for advice. We also called our vet’s office in NY for advice. Basically, they can’t just test the sample without seeing the cat; there’s 4 cats and we don’t know which one had the dark urine. The suggestion was to either watch, wait and see because the behavior would become obvious which one it was, or bring all 4 cats in and they would examine and try to determine which one it was, which is basically impossible without doing aspirations from each one. So…….we are staying in and watching, waiting and seeing. As of noon, no signs of a problem, everyone is sleeping and being very normal. None of them are using the box a lot or going to the bathroom without using the box. Maybe a false alarm. Time will tell.
Okay, update, 7:15 p.m.: things seem to be fine, maybe a false alarm, time will tell like we said earlier, right? We watched them all day. No activities out of the norm. All kitty activity at the litter box normal. So, fingers crossed, things will be fine.
Meanwhile at Mr. Fixit’s area of expertise, the shower stall (where we keep the litter box except when we’re showering) now houses a camera. Cats will be viewed, hopefully stealthily, every time they use the litter box. This should tell us who is using it abnormally, we hope. Thank you to Pixie for her help with all the small parts lying around!

Tomorrow we leave for our next campground in Delaware near two National Wildlife Refuges where we hope to make up for lost time.
