CHRIS & LIZ: We’re thinking of you and hope you both feel better soon!

Day 19 – It rained at a steady rate last night and continued all day. In the afternoon it was really coming down for hours, starting to rain a bit less around 7 p.m. It was also quite windy earlier in the day. Even though it was a Friday and campgrounds usually get busy then, very few campers came into this Loop. We didn’t hear much of the barking dog since the windows were closed all day and the combination of wind and rain on the roof was pretty loud in itself.

Due to the weather, today was a day of catching up on things indoors. We only went outside once to empty some trash into a dumpster and take a drive around the campground, checking out all the sites. Not very many people were here. Even the Loops that provide hook-ups were only about half full. The campground is huge with 13 separate loops, some of which have very nice cabins by the water, some have tiny cabins, some are for tent camping, but most are for RVs, campers, trailers, and tents. Most Loops have no hook-ups.

During our drive we saw that many large trees had come down. Wondering why, we looked at the paperwork we got when checking in and it said there had been tornado damage in 2019 and they were still cleaning it up. It must’ve been pretty major!

We also saw a male deer with antlers and later, two younger female deer. They were pretty and looked healthy. That was the extent of our excitement for the day. Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day, at least we hope so! Below you will see how Gracie and Java spent their day.
