Finally ready for windows!

Installing the big gable end windows, Cliff Haven, ME

On Sunday Oct. 12, Rob worked alone on making samples of trim details.

On Monday Oct 13, Jesse, Channon and Cody finished up the garage roof and laid the last section of roofing felt in preparation for shingling. They then worked on sheathing the last wall section on the gable end facing the water. Wayne and Channon also finished up the garage fascia in preparation for installing trim.

On Tuesday Oct. 14, Rob and Wayne worked on prepping for trim installation and installed the first two windows. We started with the garage windows to work out the details.

On Wednesday Oct. 15, the garage door company came by to quote us for a door and to provide some samples. We’ve been going back and forth on selecting a garage door style, color and finish. Eric from PDQ door suggested that black might be a good choice. Later in the evening we finally decided on a black carriage door for the garage, which allowed us to settle on black for the front door as well in craftsman style. Finally those decisions were made!

On Thursday Oct. 16, it rained all day and the full crew worked on installing floor sheathing inside in the loft and joists for the loft over the back porch.

Friday Oct. 17 was a long day! The full crew plus Brandon finished sheathing the back of the house and began installing fascia trim. We also installed 6 more windows, finishing up in the dark.

Rob took a few days off on Saturday and Sunday, just doing some minor chores. Rob & Vicki went to dinner at Cohill’s in Lubec and saw some beautiful fall scenery!

The kitties have been enjoying themselves.
