ST. ANDREWS.
Day 14 – It was cold & blustery with the wind this morning, 42 degrees. It got light out an hour later this morning due to the time change making it noticeably different for us and the kitties. We’ll be thrown off balance again with the time change when we reach Newfoundland. This campground is large with 217 campsites. This time of year there’s only a few sites occupied. They fill up in the summer with the oceanfront campsites and their proximity to town, so for now it’s fairly quiet. There’s more Deer in the campground than people; they are often outside grazing.

After relaxing inside the RV this morning, we drove into town to run some errands. We got Canadian cash at the bank (the currency rate is in our favor). We mailed a couple of items and got Canadian stamps. Rob has a broken part that needs to be fixed (surprise, surprise) so we went to the hardware store. A stop at NB Liquor Store filled the RV back up (we could only bring a limited amount across the border). The local grocery store yielded good-looking produce (it will be rare in NF) and some frozen Beyond Burgers to restock our freezer. We brought everything back to the RV to put up – it was nice and easy since all the stores were close by.
Chores complete, we went out to lunch at Seasons by the Sea Bistro, by the water in St. Andrews. The food was so good that we ordered dinner to go for tonight. For lunch we had the Spinach-Artichoke Dip, a Coastal Club (club sandwich on homemade seed bread with house-smoked salmon instead of bacon or meat), and the Green Thumb Burger (black bean/sweet potato patty with condiments on homemade seeded brioche bread). Both sandwiches came with salad, soup, or fresh wedge fries. For dinner we ordered the Tomato Confit Fettucini with Shrimp (homemade pasta with a slow-cooked tomato sauce and a large dollop of homemade creamy pesto + large shrimp + homemade bread). We recommend this restaurant: Seasons by the Sea, 209 Water St., St. Andrews, NB; 506-529-4702.
It was much warmer in the RV than outside. With the wind blowing it was quite cold and it was very overcast. After that lunch, it was nap time for us. Oh, and I forgot to mention, when we were in town, Deer were grazing in people’s front yards.
