HUNKERING DOWN.

Day 366 – It was cold and very windy today. We didn’t go anywhere, just hunkered down inside the RV. The normally-placid lake was kicking up waves. Even the fishermen didn’t come out; the fish got a day off from hiding from the fishing pole hooks. The temperature struggled to get above 49 degrees all morning.

Today ended up to be a baking day (3 loaves of bread) in between the relaxation. It reached 54 degrees in the afternoon and the winds are still raging (as of 6 p.m.). We just heard the familiar sound of Sandhill Cranes – we love the sound they make. Rob went outside to try to get a few pictures of the Sandhill Cranes flying over, heading south on their migration. It’s amazing to me that such a big bird can even fly at all in strong winds.
