IT RAINS IN CANADA, TOO!
Day 233 – Today we woke up early; it was a good thing because the wildlife were active early, too. It was cloudy and 56 degrees at 6:45 a.m.
The Deer were going back and forth to the little Island in the harbor. It’s funny to watch them jump in the water and haul themselves out on the other side, and they swim quite well. We never knew that. This morning when one Deer was leaving the Island, two youngsters, we’re assuming too young to swim yet, followed her almost to the water. A little later there were two more Deer at the end of the harbor near our site. Then a Great Blue Heron arrived and was looking for fish, and soon a Raccoon arrived looking for something to eat. They both stayed awhile.
Later this morning we had a Zoom meeting, then we had our lunch and went out. Rob picked up the part he needed for fixing the water problem – the Check Valve – and we went to the bank to change to Canadian money. Both of these errands took us west of the campground (away from Victoria), so we got to see a different perspective than what we see when looking over the harbor. He also called the company that makes the Electric Step. Since we’ve had a problem twice now, they are shipping us a new controller – free. Let’s hope once we receive it and he installs it, things will work correctly. When we got back to the RV, he installed the Check Valve. One thing fixed; one more to go.
We sat outside in the afternoon until it started to rain. We didn’t see the sun all day. The high today was 62 degrees and it was a little breezy. Tomorrow evening we are scheduled for a Sunset Whale Watching Cruise from Fisherman’s Wharf in Victoria. We really hope it doesn’t rain.
