MUSHROOMS & TREES.
Day 112 – Rob went out to the cliff this morning in dense fog. A Bald Eagle flew overhead so close he could hear the wings flap, but his hands were holding a tall mug filled with coffee rather than the camera. Oh well. He did get a picture of the trees he cut down, what’s left of them. The rest of them will be chopped to wood chips with the chipper/ shredder this afternoon.

Later this morning after the fog had somewhat cleared, Maureen, our neighborhood mushroom expert, came by to see what we had growing currently. Although most of the Chanterelles had aged out, she was still able to identify most of the other kinds we have growing wild on the land. She looked at the pictures Rob had taken and suggested he send them to the local mushroom identification group, saying the pictures were better than what she’d previously seen as a member of the group. Our own little mushroom walk!
After lunch, I continued with my computer project while Paul Bunyan worked on turning tree bits into wood chips. The high today was 63 degrees.
