MR. FIX-IT.

Day 77 – It was clear & sunny, 56 degrees this morning when Rob went out to the cliff with camera & coffee. Lately we’d heard plenty of Kingfisher ruckus but hadn’t been able to get pictures. Today Rob found out why the bird noise: the Harbor Kingfishers have babies, and there are two of them. They call out to the parents for food ALOT!

Ever since we bought the RV, Rob has been doing things to improve it. His last major change was the overhauling of the battery system. He’s planning on installing solar panels on the RV’s roof when we get home in September. We hope to take a LONG trip starting this fall, so he’s been planning to implement more changes before leaving on that trip. The first of several orders for his projects arrived recently. The project started today is the installation of an improved holding tank level monitoring system. Updates on the projects will be on the Blog as they happen, because Mr. Fix-It is back in action.

We went into town briefly to pick up a part from the hardware store. It’s a Wednesday, not the weekend, and Lubec was packed. We barely got a parking space. It seems like this small town has turned into Acadia National Park or something. SO many people visiting.

The high today was 67 degrees. Later the fog came in and enveloped the Harbor. It’s supposed to rain tonight from midnight until Friday morning. Guess we’ll be hunkering down. (Project time for Rob.)

Cute little Kingfishers! They almost look mature enough to branch out and start fishing for themselves!
