BACK TO WALLY’S BAGELS.
Day 67 – It rained last night and was windy. The high winds finally turned into a nice breeze around 10 a.m. The high today was 82 degrees, and it was humid. In the afternoon, we baked Italian bread for making Rob’s garlic/mozzarella bread. The long use of the oven made the RV uncomfortably warm. We turned on the air conditioning. YAAA to having electric hook-ups!
This morning we went back to Wally’s Bagels for our stash of bagels & cream cheese, for some baked goodies, (Rob loves Sticky Buns & I like Lemon Poppyseed Muffins), and we got lunch for today, a couple of sandwiches. When we got there, a couple had walked in to Wally’s and turned around and walked right back out, saying they’re packed, be prepared to wait. I thought, yeah, we know, but it’s worth it. Therefore, we were prepared to wait in line about an hour, which is standard for Wally’s, but we got in & out in about ½ hour. While the bread was baking, rising, etc., we sat outside and read books, watching the people come and go. I took some pictures of the general area. Our campsite had a view of the landing and Lake Champlain beyond. The people across from us had a couple of great dogs. One of them was a black German Shepherd, absolutely gorgeous. The couple next to us on one side in an old restored Airstream departed. The couple on the other side of us left and later were replaced by a couple from Florida in a HUGE Class A RV. They proceeded to bring a bunch of lawn furniture out, including a couch and two chairs – something we’d never seen before. And of course, the obligatory BBQ Grill. Hmmm……staying long? We’re just nosy! LOL. Rob took a walk while I was packaging up the garlic bread (it’s a joint effort from start to finish), and he took more pictures. Click on any picture below to see a slideshow.
This, being our third time at this campground, really feels good here. Even though they were full and had no vacancies, it remained quiet and very pleasant. A great environment. The cats like it here and are relaxed. It feels like home. Our favorite campsites are #17 and #13. Also, the site we stayed in last time under the large maple tree by the building, near where the recycling containers are located (we don’t know what the number was). We’re leaving tomorrow morning, continuing our journey back to Maine and our land.
