THE BOAT.
Day 18 – It was a beautiful day here today with a high of 72 degrees and sunny. Rob went out with his camera & coffee and watched the Kingfishers dart about the Harbor. No bugs, which was nice!
We spent most of the day in the screened tent. But Rob went out in his kayak in the afternoon to check out the 40 foot boat which had been sunk south of our land but had drifted closer to our land this winter. It was stuck & rotting in the mud across from his Man-Cliff spot he enjoys in the mornings. I stayed on land with the camera, swatting away the mosquitoes and black flies that miraculously appear when I am outside. Click any picture below to see a slideshow.
The birds have been enjoying the masts of the boat and perch there often. Rob saw a Kingfisher & a Cormorant plus a Grebe in the Harbor. When he got out of his kayak to investigate the boat, he sunk shin-deep in thick mud and this is what’s holding the boat down. We are looking for a way to get the boat out of the Harbor. A work in progress.

Looks like a modern day pirate ship wreak to me 🙂 Good thing Rob didn’t see any lost souls peering into the ship’s hold. Probably pirate’s booty in the captain’s cabin but you’d need to crawl up in there to be sure… Arrr!!
