FEAST OR FAMINE.
Day 17 – It was 47 degrees this morning when we got up. Last night we checked the weather in NY at our house – it had been 94 degrees there during the day. What a difference! We had been planning to leave our land Monday, heading for a week near Presque Isle in northern Maine. But looking at the weather forecast there, it would be in the 90’s the first couple of days we were there, and we wouldn’t have hook-ups, therefore no air conditioning. We decided to stay here for those hot days, leaving here probably Wednesday instead.
Lots more happening today. Although cold, it was sunny and not windy out, and Rob went to the cliff with his coffee & camera. It was active in the Harbor and he got some pictures of a Goshawk being chased by two Kingfishers. Click any picture below to see a slideshow.
He came back to the RV with his sweatshirt hood pulled up tight; it was cold & the bugs were out. Nevertheless, camera in hand, he headed back out for a walk on the road looking for more wildlife. See below.
Before lunch, we both went for a walk (see what a little sun will do?), and got a few plant pictures. We also had a chat with Dana, a neighbor with a place on the road as she was on the way out to visit friends. Great seeing you, Dana!
When we got back, the sun was shining on the dashboard. The kitties were happily luxuriating in the warmth. They didn’t even know we were gone. A good day all around!
