Day 39 – Windy & cloudy, 53 degrees yet again, 6:45 a.m. Not much happening at the Harbor this morning. The sun came out briefly today but it stayed fairly windy. It started raining in the afternoon and continued raining steadily into the evening. It’s certainly October now and the weather changes as winter approaches.
At 9:30 a.m. two representatives from LUPC (Land Use Planning Commission) came out to follow up on our submittal for a building permit amendment. They looked at where we planned to have the cottage built and where the additional septic tank would be installed. We wanted to know in advance if there were any issues to our plans. With a few suggestions as to wording on the permit, they agreed it should be fine. They also took a look at the trails we’d made so we could get a certificate of occupancy to finish out the building permit for the trails. This permit will be combined with the building permit for the cottage next year. Rob took them down to the end of the cliff trail, and they talked about options for putting in stairs to provide access to the beach. All went well, and Rob updated the forms with their suggestions. We will send them in once we have the required statement from the plumbing inspector regarding the fact that we will not have to redo the septic system design. So much red tape, but no complaints; all is going smoothly at this point.
