Day 31 – We slept in this morning; it was 43 degrees at 8:30 a.m. & partly cloudy. Rob took a long hike along the Sandpiper Pond Nature Trail while I went thru my slow waking-up process. I definitely don’t bounce out of bed in the mornings, raring to go like he does!

After lunch in the RV, we went to walk the causeway again. An excellent source of exercise & fresh air, plus lots of birds, makes it something we’re enjoying daily. The Snowy Egrets have been quite entertaining this time of year as the dominant male of the flock is bullying the other males.

Then we drove to check out the boat landing that’s near the Park. It was about a mile north of the Park’s entrance on Oyster Landing Road. It was somewhat crowded but could offer a good opportunity to kayak the marsh creeks when the weather is right. We then drove south to find the closest post office to mail a card and also to find the closest laundromat. It’s getting about time to do laundry. Maybe Sunday morning when the weather is forecast to be iffy?
When we got back to the RV, we saw that most of the campground had filled up as expected. The remaining campsite that was open next to ours was occupied. So far, they are quiet just like our other neighbors. We got lucky. The high today was 62 degrees, the wind increasing a bit & mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Another great day at Huntington Beach State Park!
