Day 150 – Sunny but with a few clouds at 6:45 a.m. this morning, 33 degrees, NO wind. We’ve got plenty to do before leaving. I hope to finish the chipping/shredding while Rob carts the chips down by wheelbarrow to cover the trails & pads. Once this work is complete, we can begin packing things up.
We had started this task with three large piles of trees & branches, some of them large & thick. Everything that was too big to be whittled down by the chipper/shredder had been set aside & taken by Rob off into the woods on our property, cut basically into stumps. What was left was mostly dead debris with some live tops & branches from trees that were removed because of their potential to come down later or trees that had come down in the past year. Some trees are much easier to shred than others. It’s hard, dirty work. By late afternoon we had finished the chipping/shredding & Rob had distributed the chips throughout the trails & pads. Too tired to do anything more, we had dinner & collapsed, going to bed early. There was no wind today, it was sunny & the high was 42 degrees. Rain started in the evening & it rained all night.
