ANOTHER WINDY DAY.

Day 29 – Beginning of Week 5. Again, like last week, it feels like we’ve been gone longer. We were talking about the travelling experience last night – both of us feel like this is home, it’s not an extended vacation, this is every day, this is home. So I guess when we get back to our home, it will feel like a vacation? I don’t know, it all seems so natural and comfortable to wake up in this environment. The man with the cat, Mathilda, recently retired & sold his house, bought a trailer & is travelling full-time, for at least a couple of years, he says, then he’ll see what’s next, more travel or what. We are increasingly feeling that being a full-timer would be easy for us, at least until we got too old. Hmmm……

Okay, so how about this:  ideally, you’d have a lot of money (wouldn’t that be nice, ho ho), and you could travel around & everytime you found a place you really liked, you could buy a chunk of land there, say a private acre or two on the Oregon coast. You could develop the land, like we did in Maine, put in a trailer pad & a driveway, electric, a well, and sewer. So then you have a place on the east coast & the west coast. One in the beautiful Hudson Valley of NY, and well, there’s wonderful Canada…..but from what we hear, so many people are running away to seek asylum in Canada these days, it’s bound to get harder to buy land there. Okay, so Montana? Big-Sky country? Yeah, that’d be nice. And then there’s the south where the alligators roam…..

Back to reality, we were up by 7:45 a.m., partly cloudy, breezy, 46 degrees. The wind is supposed to increase again today as the day goes on. You can tell who has Monday off for the holiday by who has left & who has stayed to ride the wind another day. We’d like to take another bike ride today, see some more kite-boarders in action, & unfortunately we need to do another load of laundry before packing up & leaving tomorrow. But first, let’s just sit back & drink our coffee.

Today didn’t get warm, the sun didn’t come out of the clouds, and the wind was gusty & choppy and therefore evidently not good for the kite-boarders.  People just kind of hung out today, that includes us; some people with boards did come in & set up but didn’t go to the Lake. We never took that bike ride, but we did do the laundry.  (The cats absolutely LOVE laundry days, and as soon as we bring the warm laundry to the bedroom to fold, they jump in.)

We’ll hang out awhile tomorrow morning and then head south to the Gold Beach area. This has been a great campground and we certainly will come back again. Perfect!
