Day 97 – As we pack up to leave & head home, it looks like a nice travel day. It has been awhile since we had a travel day without rainy conditions. We departed from the campground at 9:40 a.m.  It was 56 degrees, partly cloudy, light breeze. I accidentally steered us the wrong way, telling Rob to go right when we should’ve contined going straight. Hmmm….I guess you could call it an accident, but I had us heading towards Montpelier to visit Bernie, LOL. (It was also tempting to go up to Canada.)

Anyway, after correcting my mistake, we drove north then west back to New York, then south on the thruway all the way home, stopping once for gas and once to eat our lunch and let the kitties out. The northern part of the trip through the Adirondacks was beautiful, and then again when we got to the Hudson Valley, the scenery was gorgeous, too.

Traffic wasn’t bad & we arrived at our house at 3:35 p.m. The last time we’d been to the house, there was a lot of snow on the ground and the trees were bare. When we got home today and pulled up to the driveway, we could barely see the house for the leaves on the trees.

The girls did quite well on the ride home, but they sure were confused when we got here. Some things they knew right away, but other times they seemed quite puzzled as to where they were. Actually, both Rob & I had a little trouble remembering where some things belonged when we were unpacking, also. All in all, we settled in well and are glad to be home – for a little while anyway. Tons of laundry to do; cleaning of the RV & car; catching up on just about everything; yard work; doctors, dentists, hair appointments; the car needs tires; paperwork to do; orders to place; shopping to do; the RV needs a glass window to replace the temporary window in the door; it goes on & on. But you know what? It was worth every minute of it, and then some!
