Day 29 – It was still raining when we got up this morning, 43 degrees and windy. We can’t believe we’ve been on the road for a month as of today! The dream is real, and we are loving it. And to celebrate, we went looking for alligators this afternoon, AND FOUND THEM.

Headed into Savannah around 10 a.m., the rain had almost stopped but it was cold, 48 degrees, and very windy. Not a great day to walk around the City. We took the trolley tour and it was great, allowed us to get off and back on the trolley at any of 15 stops. Dismal out and not a good day for pictures (at least in Savannah), but we enjoyed the history lessons, stories and architecture of the houses, and tour of this charming City very much. Next we went to the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge because they had a long driving tour and although it had stopped raining, it was too cold to be outside for long. The decision to go there certainly paid off!

It was a good day. Got back to the campground at 6:30 p.m. The cats were warm and cozy inside the RV; it was good to be home and to warm up. (But it’s nothing compared to our friends in NY who are being buried by a blizzard and in single-digit temps! Good luck everyone, thinking of you!)

Beautiful Park, great campsites, full hook-ups, quiet and clean. We liked our site (#43). Close to Savannah, beaches, boating, hiking, biking.
I keep smiling at reading about “cold weather” knowing it is all relative!!! And what is this obsession about alligators 🙂 Really nice pictures as always and enjoying the reading (which means I have to read the Classic “inspiration” SOME day!!!)… and it’s still cold & dreary here in NY!!!
