LA ROUTE DES ANCETRES FRANCAIS.

Day 34 – We made sure we didn’t sleep in this morning because we had a lot of ground to cover today. The weather when we got up was sunny, no wind, and BRRR! 31 degrees. We left at 9 a.m. and headed north and west off of Trans Canada Highway 1 and got on Route 460 towards Stephenville. As we departed the campground, we saw they were beginning road work on the campground roads – great!

A DRIVE SOUTH OF THE CAMPGROUND ALONG THE COAST.

Day 33 – It was 42 degrees and cloudy this morning. It rained all night. The wind gusts were gone and there was just a little breeze. And we still don’t have a signal. Yesterday we sat outside some in the afternoon since it was warmer, but eventually the wind, coupled with cooling temperatures, brought us inside again. There were no bugs yet. In Codroy there were some mosquitoes but they weren’t biting yet. The farther north we go and as long as we stay close to the Ocean, the bugs should be manageable, even when it warms up some.

WRECKHOUSE WINDS BE GONE.

TRAVEL DAY

From: Grand Codroy RV/Tent Camping, Doyle’s, NL.

To:Barachois Pond Provincial Park, Stephenville Crossing, NL.

Day 32 – We were wondering why this valley area is as populated as it is. One of the campground owners said they have their own micro-climate here. The same thing that brings in the high winds here and not so high winds elsewhere, causes the temperatures here to be milder than anywhere else on the Island.
