KAREN – HOPING FOR POSITIVE RESULTS!

Day 49 – At 6:40 this morning it was 58 degrees & cloudy; by 8 a.m. it was raining lightly. We have to move on today. Our reservations are up. We are making a short drive to an independent campground near Savannah, GA, close to the SC/GA border.

85 miles, (1:50), 35171-35256

We weren’t in a hurry to leave this morning since we couldn’t check in at the new campground until after 1 p.m.  We had a relaxing morning, then departed the wonderful Edisto Island at 11:15 after dumping tanks. It was raining lightly & 63 degrees. We drove past all the entrances to the great places we’d been to during our stay here. It was fun remembering and at the same time, it was sad to leave it behind.

We arrived at Camp Lake Jasper RV Park in Hardeeville, SC at 1:05 p.m. after an uneventful drive. We could tell we weren’t that far from Savannah; the traffic had certainly picked up! It was 71 degrees, cloudy and humid when we arrived. It continued raining on & off throughout most of the day.

This is a nice campground. It wasn’t full when we got here, but there was a steady stream of RV’s coming in all day. We got Site #104, full hook-ups, $51.75 per night with the Good Sam Club discount. There’s a small grassy area adjacent to our campsite. Someone has sent their four young children to play loudly here. The campground is quiet otherwise. We’ll be gone most of the day tomorrow & we’re only staying two nights anyway, so we will survive. Grin.
