HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAM!  WE HOPE YOUR DAY IS WONDERFUL!

Day 221 – It did snow last night but by noon most of it was gone. It was 35 degrees this morning when Rob got up. By the time we left, a little after noon, it was sunny and 45 degrees, also not very windy. We had a short distance to drive to Elkhart, IN where we’re having the suspension work done on the back of the RV. Then next week we’ll have the front done in Iowa.

43 miles

Shipshewana North Park Campground, https://36yrdream.com/2017/09/16/friday-september-15-2017/. We stayed at this campground last September and happily came back again. See that review by following the link above. The only things that’re different now were that we were in Site #16 this time, and they had just opened for the season & were not very busy. It was $40 per night, plus tax.

At a little after 2 p.m., we arrived at Mor/Ryde in Elkhart where we’ll be spending the night tonight in their parking area for RV’s. They’ll be starting the work tomorrow at 6 a.m. We didn’t have that far to drive, but we spent quite awhile on the way to Mor/Ryde recording the effect of rough roads on the RV. Then after the work is done, we’ll repeat these recordings and see how much difference it made. Next week in Oskaloosa, IA we’ll do the same thing before & after the front end work is done.

It was a pretty day, high of 49 degrees and sunny. SO nice not to have strong winds blowing. The factory headquarters at Mor/Ryde are large and located in a fairly busy part of Elkhart. Our little camping parking space is near busy roads and railroad tracks, but the area isn’t bad & everything is clean. Could be worse. And since it’s cold out, we can keep the windows closed; that cuts down on the noise. The cats seem puzzled as to why we’re parked here. Like, where’s the trees and the birdies to watch?
