TRAVEL DAY

From: Billings KOA Holiday Campground, Billings, MT.

To: Buffalo KOA Journey Campground, Buffalo, WY.

Day 353 – We left Montana today and crossed the border into Wyoming. Our new campground is another KOA and we’re only staying one night. Check-in time at the Buffalo KOA was 2 p.m. (From what we read, Buffalo, WY is “LONGMIRE COUNTRY”. We are Longmire fans. Those of you that have read the books or watched the series know about Longmire. Grin.) We didn’t have to wait around too long to leave. We departed the Billings, MT KOA at 10:40 a.m.

Most of the drive took place on Interstate 90 East and the first part of the drive was more of the mostly-flat land we’ve been seeing. Getting closer to Wyoming, it became more hilly with more trees, and many of the trees were colored yellow with some of the oranges and reds of fall. It was very pretty. We saw Horses, Cows, and Antelope dotting the hills. There weren’t many towns, just farms and ranches and lots of open land. We stopped for lunch and got gas for the RV at a rest stop in Wyoming.

We arrived at the Buffalo KOA at 2:25 p.m. It was 84 degrees and partly cloudy. We were assigned site #42, a pull-through campsite, so we didn’t even have to unhook the Honda from the RV. We had full hook-ups – YAAA again, for the air conditioning. The campground was smaller and not as fancy as the last KOA. It also wasn’t very crowded. Our campsite had beautiful old White Birch trees on each side of site. The shade was nice. Tomorrow morning we leave for South Dakota.
