AND THE RAIN + WIND CONTINUE.
Day 183 – With this wind, it is bitterly cold – 39 degrees this morning, with windchill, 34 degrees. People camp in this? LOL.
We had another visit this morning from the little bird. It flew to a different window, then continued to tantalize Gracie, who got to the window quickly and tapped right back. We looked up the bird – it was a Wrentit.

More trip planning this afternoon. We booked campsites at Jasper, Banff, and Kootenay National Parks in Alberta Canada (the Icefield Parkway) for the month of September. That far in advance and still many campsites were already reserved – the summer was fully booked. We’re continuing to work on the summer months, Vancouver Island, then inland across British Columbia to Alberta.
We went out to dinner, excited at the prospect of visiting the Icefield Parkway after the summer months when its known for being wall-to-wall tourists. Then we realized that we’d been gone from home six months yesterday – something else to celebrate. We were back at Waterfront Depot, and we again got there before 5 p.m. and there was an hour’s wait. We sat at the bar, had another fantastic meal, and thanked our lucky stars for the past six months.
It rained and was windy all day, heavily at times, but the intervals between the stormy parts is increasing. Maybe tomorrow we will be able to get outside to see some sights. The high today was 44 degrees. Brrrr.
Your dad and I (Vicki) loved Jasper and Banff. Enjoy!
