HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUDY!
Day 182 – 40 degrees this morning, it rained most of the night. The temperature dropped into the upper 30’s during the morning, then rose to 48 degrees by 4 p.m. It was windy. We hunkered down and stayed inside.
April showers bring what? HAIL! Yep, it surprised us when the pitter-patter of rain on the roof of the RV changed to banging on the roof. A decent amount of hail in the morning (see pictures), then again for a short period of time once in the afternoon, and once at night.
We spent the day working on trip planning. Since we’ll soon be moving into the summer months and we’ve already been having trouble booking campsites (particularly over the weekend), we won’t be scouting campgrounds in advance close to the date of our arrival. Too many have been already reserved by the time we get there. We did our research and reserved campsites through Washington state, the ferry trip to Vancouver Island, and the first campground we’d stay at in Canada. It will be quite interesting to see how we did, picking a campground and a campsite, all sight unseen.
The girls were quite excited when a little bird flew up and pecked at the window. Even though all of them rushed to the window to gawk at the bird, it stayed there and kept on pecking. Pretty cute. If he comes back, we hope to be ready to capture this with the camera.
