NEWFOUNDLAND – A RELAXING DAY INDOORS, ALMOST.

Day 144 – It was 43 degrees this morning when we got up, 10 degrees colder than yesterday at this time. It rained all night and had stopped raining by 8 a.m., only to start up again with some wind later in the morning. But being nestled in these trees keeps the wind noise & movement to a minumum. It just wasn’t a good day to go outside because it was so wet.

We caught up with some paperwork stuff, read our books, Rob worked on his database, and he did some research on where he could get the alignment done on the Honda. The closest place turned out to be Corner Brook which is an hour and a half south of here. There just aren’t many big cities in NF, We got an appointment for 9:45 tomorrow morning & we’ll have to wait there while the work is done. The issue is that a rear tire, one or the other, not a particular side, goes bald quickly. We bought new tires recently & only put 13,000 miles on this tire before it went bald. We had the alignment and balancing done at the same time we got the tires. We’re afraid we may find that we just can’t tow this car behind the RV (unless we get new tires every 10K miles plus another alignment). So, it was almost a relaxing day indoors, but because of tomorrow’s scheduled alignment, Rob had to go out in the rain & mud to take the kayaks down from the roof and the bikes off the back of the Honda. We will make a grocery shopping trip tomorrow, also, since we’ll be in a city large enough to have a Dominion Grocery Store. Domestically, I made a shopping list, we made another loaf of bread and also made a nice, healthy baked salmon dinner for tonight & tomorrow night. The high today was only 47 degrees.
