MORE OF THE SAME.
Day 350 – Today was a lot like yesterday except instead of driving south, we drove north. And the scene at the Elk Viewing site was calmer and quieter. The high today was in the upper 70’s and it was sunny.

Day 349 – It was 39 degrees this morning and sunny, not a cloud in the sky. Some campers were packing up early and leaving, and their campsites were not immediately being refilled. The weekend was ending for those going back to work. Most of the people we’ve been seeing appear to be retirees. We paid for another 3 nights here, then we will move on.
Continue readingEARLY MORNING ELK.
Day 348 – We got up early this morning to take a drive to see the Elk at sunrise. We were told that the Elk leave the Viewing Area every night to go off into the hill country, then return every morning as the sun rises. We got there just as the Elk were crossing the road.
They headed off into the trees and began bellowing back and forth. Since it’s a Saturday and the Elk Viewing Area would be crowded tonight, we thought the morning would be a better time to see them.
Continue readingWE HAVE NO SIGNAL AGAIN.
Day 347 – Yes, we have no internet connection and no phone yet again. Blog posts will go out once we have a signal so that Rob can upload the pictures and a signal so that we can send it out. If we go somewhere and find a signal in a town or something, we’ll be in touch.

Day 346 – It’s September 22; Fall begins today. We think lots of people will be glad this past, hot summer is over. It was raining when we got up this morning, a bit muddy out, and it continued to rain until a little before noon on our trip south to the Elk Viewing area.

Day 345 – It was a cold 31 degrees this morning when we got up; sunny and clear out. Our travel day drive was to be a short one, around 20 miles only. The reason we were changing campgrounds was because we needed to fill up with water and dump tanks before moving on to the Elk Viewing area. We moved from a no hook-up campground to a campground with full hook-ups just for one night.
SLEEPING BUFFALO (it’s not what you’d think).
Day 344 – Nothing broke yesterday – compared to recent days, a milestone! Today we woke up to the sounds of Canada Geese. In front of the RV on the Lake, we had the Geese, Sea Gulls, various Ducks, and on the distant island, White Pelicans. And when the neighboring Golden Eagle flew over, they scattered noisily. We love it.

Day 342 – Huh? We went from Val Marie Campground to Val Marie Campground? Yep. Today was a worse day than yesterday. We were supposed to cross the border today, from Saskatchewan Canada to Montana U.S.A. Best laid plans…..

Day 341 – Today was not a great day. It was one of those days when things keep going wrong. We’ve been having trouble with a cranky slide out – the one on the passenger side front. That slide houses Rob’s recliner and table, a storage area, and the cabinet which opens out to become a desk of sorts. A couple of times we had a little trouble getting the slide to go back in straight. But it always went in after a couple of tries. Today when shutting the bedroom slide, a different slide out, it made a noise that didn’t sound right at all AND the passenger side front slide wouldn’t close until Rob forced it by physically pushing that side of the slide in. Not good. (You cannot travel with a slide out – they must be shut.) We went on our way, but Rob knew that he needed to work on this when we got to our next campground. This was just the beginning of our issues today.
