RELAXATION & A DRIVE AROUND THE LAKE.

Day 10 – A change in temperatures from Clear Creek State Park to Codorus State Park, it was 20 degrees warmer this morning when we got up. Sunny & breezy. The campground was quiet last night, but that won’t last. They are decorating for Halloween, and this weekend two of the camping loops will be decorated for a drive-thru Halloween here for the kids. It was advertised in the City as we drove through yesterday. Evidently a big deal. At the end of this campground loop it is also decorated and last night we could hear some sounds of witches laughing and Halloween scary noises. We hung out in the RV this morning catching up on some things, then spent the afternoon exploring the Park.

We were unable to drive through campground Loops C and D since they were temporarily closed for Halloween preparation. We checked out Loop A, which has no hook-ups and doesn’t allow pets. Only three campsites were occupied. I guess most people have pets or simply prefer the electric hook-ups of Loop B. This was our loop and it was fully occupied although several campers departed later in the day and several more arrived.

Lake Marburg is large and deep blue in color. There are many boat launches and two big marinas, one for motor boats and one for sail boats. Kayaks are for rent at both sites. We followed the map of the State Park that we were given when we entered yesterday. We stopped at a wildlife viewing station, but no wildlife wanted to be viewed. We drove all the way around the Lake, stopping several times to take pictures. It was lovely. Part of the country around the Lake was old farmland with wonderful old farm houses. It appeared they were mostly growing corn and soy beans. There were several chicken farms and a couple of cow farms. Some had horses; in fact, there are a lot of horseback riding trails at the Park. Some of the area around the Lake had a country club feel with mansions and nicely manicured large lawns. And some of the land was undeveloped.

Back at the RV we sat outside with our books. It was breezy and 74 degrees. A beautiful day. Tomorrow we travel to Delaware, Trap Pond State Park. When it got dark enough, we took pictures of the Halloween decorations near the end of Loop B.
