Day 37 – We are becoming convinced that the mouse has left the building. The girls, except for an occasional sniff at the grate opening when passing by, are no longer interested. If the mouse was still there, they would be continuing tag-team behavior.

This morning at 6:45 a.m., it was 53 degrees & cloudy & still raining. Rob didn’t go out for his morning’s coffee break. It appeared the front had passed through by 10:30; the sun was out & there were only a few clouds. We decided that the tide was coming in and it would be a good time to go kayaking. We got ready quickly and drove to Smith Beach, about ¼ mile away.

We were half way through our kayaking adventure when dark clouds came in and it began to rain. There was no forecasted rain until possibly tonight. It felt good actually, and we continued our slow tour of both sides of the Harbor. By the time we got back to our original launch site, we were soaked and cold to the bone. But it was a great time & we were glad we went out. One thing’s for sure, don’t trust the weather forecast and always come prepared for anything.
Back at the RV we dried off, warmed up, and had a late lunch. By the time we were done with lunch, the sun was back out. We went out to the screened tent, turned on the little propane heater to stay warm, and spent the rest of the afternoon out by the cliff, overlooking the Harbor. The lobster boats were busy returning with today’s catch. The lighting was nice so we took a few pictures from inside the tent.

Glad you made it out kayaking!
