HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
Day 16 – It was 41 degrees and there was bright sunshine at 7:00 this morning. Later in the day the clouds came in. It continued to be windy. The campers in the two trailers parked near us packed up to leave after lunchtime, taking their six kids with them. Peaceful & quiet again.
We made some French Bread to use to make Garlic Cheese Bread later for dinner. Tonight we’re making Crab Imperial (with Maine crab) & serving it over pasta. Happy Mother’s Day everyone. We hope you have a wonderful day!
This afternoon we went back to the Sea Caves at low tide. Rob was hoping to hike over to them & check out the inside. I stayed at the beach to watch. It was crowded. Evidently the Sea Caves are the place to be on a Sunday afternoon at low tide.
He walked over to the Caves but found that in order to enter them, he’d have to jump a stream & he wasn’t wearing the shoes that would properly handle the muddy sand and the stream. He needed wader boots like fishermen wear – the rubber boots that go almost all the way to your knees. Nevertheless, he had a good walk & got some pictures. Across the Bay when it’s clear out, you could see Nova Scotia, Cape Chignecto. Since it wasn’t foggy today we drove back to West Quaco, the Quaco Head Lighthouse. It was also pretty crowded there. But better picture-taking opportunities were available. Near there we could clearly see “the Flower Pot”, a Sea Stack that had broken away from the coastline with trees & bushes still on top of it.

The high today was 51 degrees and it was very cloudy later in the day. It’s supposed to rain again tomorrow. We’ll be leaving for Hopewell Cape, near Fundy National Park and Hopewell Rocks. This, too, is a popular area for tourists on the Bay of Fundy.
Century Farm Family Campground: 67 Ocean Wave Drive, St. Martins, NB Canada E5R 2E8; (506) 833-2357 in season, or 1-866-394-4400 all year; www.centuryfarmcampground.com; e-mail reservecffc@nb.aibn.com. Camping season is mid-May to September 30th. Seasonal campsites are available. Check-in time is after 12 noon; check-out time is 11 a.m. There are 112 seasonal campsites & 53 regular campsites (many with very good ocean views). There are also tenting campsites & small cabins in a different area. All have access to the beach and the tidal Bay. Most campsites are full hook-up. There are laundry facilities, washrooms, and public restrooms, a rec room & 2 playgrounds. The campground is gated & traffic is not noisy, but if this campground was full during season, it would be quite busy. It was great when we were here in early May. It was $39.33 per night including tax, off-season rate, Canadian currency & with the Good Sam Club discount. This was an amazing price for full hook-ups & being right on the Ocean. We would stay here again but not during the busy season.
So beautiful! Can we come for dinner? Yum, yum!
Sure, anytime!!!!
