WE’RE BAACKK………
Hello everyone! Happily, we’re able to continue Trip #5. We had to end our trip about 5 ½ weeks into it because of my knee issue. After 3 ½ weeks at home in NY and many doctor, physical therapy, and accupuncture appointments, we’re heading back out again. Once we had used up the small amount of PT visits my insurance would allow, we figured everything I am doing at home can be done in the RV. I am now the proud owner of my own walker & my own cane. Both have helped tremendously, and they are packed into the RV along with a knee brace to help me recover. The Cortisone shot helped with the pain for a short period of time, then the knee got worse, but never as severe as it was initially. I found that anytime I walked without some kind of support, the next day I paid for it. I was given exercises by the physical therapist; I do them daily & they’ve been helping. We decided that the exercises, the daily icing, walking with support only, all of that could be done in the RV while I recovered – or didn’t recover – in which case, a knee replacement surgery may be in my future. Time will tell. Thank you so much to everyone for your support, particularly Rob, who has been amazing.
Meanwhile at home, the temperatures dropped below zero soon after we arrived. Bitterly cold & several decent snowstorms, two of those storms switching over to ice before they ended, made the weather quite interesting. The last snowstorm followed by ice was yesterday. We weren’t sure we’d be able to leave today. Also very exciting, the pipes in the RV froze soon after we got home causing lots of water leakage for Rob to fix. The last bit of leaking pipes occurred just yesterday afternoon. Then finally this morning after we’d finished loading up the RV & were ready to leave, we discovered that Pixie was missing. Rob did bring her out to the RV, we knew that, but he’d been in & out of the RV and could she have snuck past us and be out in the snow & ice? There’s no way to describe the panic we felt. We finally found her under the covers on the bed sound asleep. Were all these things some king of omen? Should we maybe just stay home, let my knee recover at home, make sure the RV was really ready for the trip, etc.?

Thanks, Karen…..I can feel your pain, too. We are thinking about you constantly!
