Day 52 – Clear, breezy, 60 degrees this morning 7:30 a.m., gorgeous out, high humidity gone. YAAAA! Rob quickly headed down to the beach to check out the birds at the high point of their morning feeding. Not being a morning person, I stumbled around for awhile in the RV to wake up. It was low tide & the ocean was calm. What a difference between the high tide, rough seas from the storm and the low tide, calm ocean pictures.

We took a bike ride and then headed for the docks. We bought 8 lbs. of fresh Gulf shrimp, caught last night & brought in this morning, 16/21 count per pound, for $40 (end of Oak St).

We did the grocery shopping. Also, we took pictures of homes which have been protected from future hurricanes (not only do people put their houses on stilts to raise them above water levels, in addition some of them have added support around the home itself either by poles along the sides or by banding the home entirely).

Beautiful day. We sat outside for awhile, breezy and sunny, 72 degrees. We spent several hours cleaning the shrimp, boiling it briefly, and freezing most of it; then made a greek pasta sauce for the remaining 1 lb. of shrimp, and some garlic bread to go with it. Yummy and some of the best shrimp we’ve ever had. If we had room in the RV freezer, we’d buy ten more pounds!

We like the “name” of this house. Other good ones “Our Big Easy” and “Recovery Room”.
