LUCA SURE IS GETTING BIGGER!
Day 211 – Remember Luca, that adorable little puppy who we visited in southern CA with our friend, Mark? He was SO little and SO cute. Well, yesterday Luca was 4 months old, and take a look below at his before-and-after pictures. Still SO cute but not so little. Look at those long legs! We hear he’s eating them out of house and home. What a happy boy!

Day 209 – Rob was out first thing this morning, even before he drank his coffee, to get a picture of the Bald Eagle pair that were in the tree near the RV.
RAINY DAY BUSY-WORK.
Day 208 – It was windy and raining hard all night. It’s getting pretty muddy out. There was a short period of time this morning right after we got up when it wasn’t raining and the wind wasn’t too bad.
Continue readingDay 207 – With the heavy wind and rain continuing here, we stayed indoors and got some stuff done, including but not limited to, making crab recipes for lunches & dinners, spying on our neighbors, kicking around the stuffed seal toy for the cat’s pleasure, and watching the Bald Eagles fly by the RV.
The two Canadian rental RVs with the 8 happy German tourists in them, departed in the morning for their next coastal drive. We sincerely hope they have enough beer! We had Crab Salad Sandwiches for lunch and Crab sauteed in butter & a little Cream Sherry with Vidalia Onion, Shallots, Garlic & Capers over Linguini for dinner. YUM. We visited with relatives over the phone and caught up with some e-mail. It’s so nice to have a good signal again!

Day 206 – It rained hard all night; here we go again. It was 42 degrees and getting windy when we got up this morning. The wind and rain increased for our journey to our next campground. A miserable day, weather-wise. The drive was still lovely even though it appears gloomy in the pictures. The scenery, what we could see of it, was very beautiful.

Day 205 – Another busy, but productive day. This year the British Columbia Provincial Parks have started a new system for people making reservations at campgrounds. It’s a two-month rolling system, and reservations for a campsite cannot be made until two months before the first day you want to stay there – rather than their former reservation system which allowed people to make reservations more than a year in advance. (The Canadian National Parks still use the former rules.)

Day 204 – Today was another busy day and the weather was good again. We were tired of not having a good signal at the campsite. Rob needed to go through the pictures we’d taken and put them together with the blog posts I’d written, so he could get some of them posted, and I was only partway through researching whalewatching trips, bear tours, and scenic sightseeing cruises in British Columbia. If these summer boat trips were booking up as fast as campsites had been, we knew we needed to make some reservations quickly before too much more time elapsed. We left in the morning, looking for a good signal north of the Park.

Day 203 – We were gone much of today. We drove across the bridge from Washington to Oregon to finish off our sightseeing in Astoria. We both really like this city; it has a kind of old time historic maritime vibe about it. We’d been busy the past several days and we did have a few recommendations in Astoria to follow up on.

Day 202 – It did not rain last night; it was SO quiet without the patter of the rain on the roof. Today we hung around the campsite, made a big batch of pancakes for a late breakfast, and departed at 1:35 p.m. after dumping tanks. Most of the campers in this huge campground left earlier today, so our wait at the dump station wasn’t bad.
