Strathmore Highway Camping, Strathmore, AB

ABOUT STRATHMORE HIGHWAY CAMPING: We were on the road, traveling from one place to the next, and needed a one-night stayover. We’d never been to this area before. Strathmore was a small farming town off the Trans-Canada Highway, Highway 1, in Alberta, Canada, east of Calgary. We were tired and hungry; it was convenient.

It looked like it had once been farmland and was now a RV Park. There were no amenities, just a large field with a few trees right off busy Highway 1. Our site had no number. There were no hook-ups. The site was situated in a field overlooking acres of farmland. The campground was quiet except for the traffic noise from the road. It fit the bill.

We were given no information about the Park or the area. There were no rules and regulations. In fact, they didn’t even ask our name and address. We paid $30 cash and that was it. No complaints; we didn’t need more than this. Would we stay here again? Under the same circumstances, just a place to sleep, yes.

Strathmore Highway Camping: the campground is located east of Calgary in the town of Strathmore. It is just off Highway 1, the Trans-Canada Highway, on the north side of the road. We have no information about the place. We just stopped in and asked if they had a campsite for one night.
