ABOUT SALISH SEASIDE RV HAVEN: When looking online at campgrounds to reserve in advance, we had concerns about Victoria British Columbia Canada. We wanted something close to the ferry terminal, but didn’t want to be stuck in the middle of the big, busy city. Salish Seaside RV Haven had a large amount of 5-star reviews. Everyone loved it. Knowing that many campgrounds we’ve tried to get into were fully booked many months ago, when we began the search the second week in April, we figured we wouldn’t be able to get in here. We wanted to stay a week; they could only give us six days (that was good enough). We wanted a water site; there were 7 prime sites with excellent views of the Victoria harbor, 8 water view campsites overlooking houseboats, and 5 water view sites with partial harbor views overlooking the little bay/inlet, 4 sites on the water but facing a more industrial setting, and 12 sites that were not on the water, but may or may not have some view. Not all campsites were large enough for the RV and the tow car. We could not pick & choose our campsite since most were already reserved. We had to take what was available. We were assigned site #8. We had both a wonderful harbor view AND a full view of the little inlet where the wildlife came to visit. It couldn’t have been more perfect.
We were a 10 to 15 minute drive from downtown Victoria (Parliament, the Empress Hotel, the harbor – including the ferry terminal and tour boats, and Fisherman’s Wharf.) The campground wasn’t very big. It was immaculately maintained. There were a total of 36 campsites. The grounds were manicured with flowers and plants and trees strategically placed to not impair the views. The staff were very helpful; customer service was great. There was a two-story clubhouse, extra parking, a laundry facility, restrooms and showers, and all campsites had full hook-ups. The campground was owned and operated by the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations. Check-in time was 1 p.m. Check-out time was 11 a.m. The cost of the campsites was based on location (view) and size of campsite. We don’t know what the range was but our site was $705.60 (Canadian, which comes to about $565 U.S.) for 6 nights. We would absolutely stay here again and in the same campsite for sure.
