ABOUT PEYTON’S WOODS RV PARK & CAMPGROUND: This was our second visit to this campground. We first camped here the third week in July 2019. It was much warmer and much more crowded in 2019. This trip we stayed for 5 nights. During both trips to Twillingate, our campsite was site #46, definitely the most private site in the campground. Most of the campsites are located in an open area in a large loop. Most of these campsites are large enough for big RVs. There’s a narrow campground road that has trees and/or bushes between most campsites; this is where site #46 is found. It’s the only campsite in the whole park that has thick trees on 3 sides. You can park frontwards-in which makes it private. The only downside is that it’s located next to a field for tent campers, a small playground, and the comfort station. Trees do separate site #46 from the open field, and in June it wasn’t too busy at all, but there is a decent probability that it would get noisy when the busy season exists.
Peyton’s Woods RV Park & Campground is conveniently located in the middle of Twillingate near everything that attracts the tourists, but not near the busy main highway and within a short walk to Notre Dame Bay where (in season), whales & icebergs can be easily seen. There are 64 designated campsites plus the tent camping area; most of the sites have electric & water hook-ups or full hook-ups including sewer. There is a dump station. Customer service was good – they bend over backwards to give you the campsite you want. Amenities include the dump station, partially & full serviced sites, showers & restrooms, laundry facilities, drinking water, electric car charging station, fire pit/BBQ, internet/wi-fi, and a small playground/play area. We paid $224.25 for five nights ($39 per night, Canadian currency). The park opened May 24 and closes September 30 (in 2023). A check-in and check-out time was not specified. We would stay here again.
