ABOUT OASIS STATE PARK: We’d love to have some history of this area and this park, and lots of information about the amenities, but once again, there were no rangers nor any informational brochures to be found.
This is a small Park with three campground loops: Indian Grass (water & electric hook-ups, most sites large with easy pull-through access, most sites private); Cottonwood (no hook-ups & not very accessible for an RV; there were only a few campsites); and Hideaway (no hook-ups & very few campsites, but accessible and fairly private). We had site #29 which had hook-ups and was private – a nice campsite. $10 per night with no hook-ups and $14 per night with water & electric hook-ups. Restrooms, a playground, & a dump station were available. We would stay here again off-season, a great stopover location. NOTE: at the time we were here, there was a high-nitrate levels warning for the water.
Oasis State Park is located just north and west of Portales, New Mexico, off County Road 467 on Oasis Road.
