Lomond Campground, Gros Morne National Park, Lomond, NL

There isn’t a street address for this Gros Morne National Park campground, but it is located off Route 431, the highway that ends at Trout River, well before reaching Woody Point. The phone number is (709) 458-2417; the e-mail is grosmorne@pc.gc.ca; the website is www.pc.gc.ca/grosmorne. This is a small campground in the south region of the National Park. The campground is well off Route 431, therefore there shouldn’t be traffic noise, and it’s overlooking the Bonne Bay. Lomond offers boating, kayaking, fishing, biking, and picnicking. Other amenities include a beach, comfort station, drinking water, dump station, firepit/BBQ, and a playground. There are 29 campsites, all without any hook-ups. Most campsites are small, many are for tent camping, and most are fairly open, lacking privacy. There are 3 good sites, large enough for us & offering water views (in order of preference): Sites #26, #27, and #25. In 2023 the campground was open from May 19 to October 9. Check-in is after 2 p.m. and check-out is before 11 a.m. A National Park entry pass is required for all National Parks in Canada. In addition, including all taxes & fees, this campground costs $33 per night, Canadian currency.
