ABOUT KIWANIS OCEANFRONT CAMPING: This is a very good independent campground, especially off-season. The campground is in such a good location that we can only assume it’s totally booked during the summer season. But in early May we had our pick of campsites & we chose the front row with a three-sided view of the Passamaquoddy Bay.
The campground was situated at the end of a peninsula surrounded by water. We could watch the tides rise & fall from the Bay of Fundy from our campsite., and from the campground it’s only a 10-minute walk to downtown St. Andrews. Near the campground, it’s residential. The town shops, amenities, inns & restaurants are situated after the residential section. It was very quiet in the campground, but Water Street, the main street that runs through St. Andrews paralleling the waterfront, goes by the campground. In the summer months, it is probably solid cars and pedestrian activity. Still, this is a great place and we would definitely stay here again and again.
The campground is large with 217 well-maintained campsites. There are tent sites and RV sites. Many offer full hook-ups. Amenities include trash dumpsters, a dump station, laundry, washrooms, a playground, propane, a kitchen shelter with a sink for washing dishes, and an office which also sells wood & ice. The campground is family-owned & operated; everyone is quite nice and accommodating. Prices range from $40 per night for tenting without hook-ups to $58 per night for prime oceanfront full-hook-up campsites. The campground opened early May to October 10 in 2023. Reserve early in season; the campground fills up in the summer.
Our campsite was overlooking the water, site #3 with full hook-ups (30/50 amp), $153.55 Canadian currency for 3 nights. In 2019 we had site #21 which also had an ocean view.
